V/H/S 85 Review

Following its 90s predecessor, V/H/S 85 delves even deeper into the annals of horror, transporting audiences back to a time of VCRs and chilling tales.

In V/H/S 85, suspense grips an anthology of short films as seemingly ordinary days spiral into the depths of terror. Brace yourself as the mundane transforms into the horrific, leaving characters and viewers alike reeling in terror. Expect a torrent of gore, screams, and spine-tingling surprises that defy expectations.

Any V/H/S worth its salt features a chilling background story woven between its short films, and V/H/S 85 is no exception. In between the short horror-fueled flicks we see a documentary recording the development of an unknown creature Rory that sets an ominous tone from start to finish. The documentary is interrupted however as it is taped over by eerie recordings in a nightmare world of unknown creatures and unsettling phenomena.

V/H/S 85 delivers a visceral horror experience. It’s the stuff nightmares are made of.

The stand alone short film format of previous editions often lacked investment as they would come to a sudden close leaving a horrified, slightly bewildered viewer with more questions than answers.

In V/H/S 85 however, has gone off the beaten path as some of the stories pick up a satisfying continuing narrative over a few held camera style recordings. Sadly though, they haven’t explored this new set up enough as some of the more interesting storylines are cut a little short just as they start to gain momentum.

But then again, would it really be the V/H/S series if that was the case?

Prepare for a rollercoaster ride of terror as V/H/S 85 plunges you into the realm of the unknown. Newcomer horror buffs are in for a twisted treat and long standing fans of the franchise will relish the anticipation of each twisted revelation that they have come to love over the years.
